Playcare workers and Assistant Playcare workers

We are looking for Playcare workers and Assistant Playcare workers to join our After School provision, Monday to Friday, 3.00 – 5.30pm, term time only with the possibility of additional hours within the holiday provision. We can be flexible on days and hours. 

Staff will assist with the day-to-day organisation and operation of the provision by providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 to 11 years old in a safe and secure environment. 

Child Care, Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications along with a portable DBS are desirable however full training will be offered to the right applicant. 

Rate of pay dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Polyphony Tutor 

The Jersey College for Girls Foundation welcomes rolling applications for Instrumental and Vocal Teachers (of any discipline(s)) to join our growing team of peripatetic tutors within our Polyphony Department. 

The role of a Polyphony Tutor is term-time only, and perfect for individuals who want to bring their professional experience to two ever-growing and diverse music departments. You would be teaching across both JCP (Years 3 to 6) and JCG (Years 7 to 13). 

The total number of hours of service to be provided will be agreed with the JCG Foundation on a termly basis, depending on student demand. 

With several dedicated music spaces across both JCG and JCP, there is flexibility for the successful candidate to choose their preferred day. 

If the candidate has a second or third instrument, there may also be further scope to expand their hours here. 

Candidates for this post will:

  • Have Entitled Status, OR Entitled for Work Status, OR Licensed Status (anyone with Licensed Status can teach up to eight hours a week) 
  • Have previous experience as a peripatetic teacher, or in a similar role. 
  • Have (at a minimum) an undergraduate in Music AND Grade 8 in your primary discipline, and a minimum Grade 5 in any additional disciplines. We will consider applications that can demonstrate enough professional and practical experience should you not have either of these qualifications. 
  • Be able to teach in a variety of different styles where appropriate (Classical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock). 
  • Have a personable, self-motivated, 'can-do' approach with a genuine willingness to contribute and go the extra mile. 
  • Have a commitment, enthusiasm and passion for education through enrichment. 
  • Have a high level of professionalism in addressing students, parents, teachers and outside agencies. 
  • Have strong writing skills for report-writing about each student at the end of each academic year. 
  • Have strong interpersonal skills that display high levels of sensitivity, tact and diplomacy in dealing with difficult situations. 
  • Have an ability to demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to the aims and ethos of the Jersey College for Girls Foundation.
