  • Former JCG student – talking on careers in mechanical engineering

    We welcomed back former student Amena Hasan to speak with students about her career with Jaguar Land Rover. After completing A levels at JCG, Amena went to Cardiff University graduating with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. She has since worked in research engineering and at Jaguar Land Rover, she has worked in systems engineering, module leadership and business transformation. Adam Sykes, Head of Physics, commented: ‘This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to find out about the reality of careers in engineering. We are so proud of what Amena has achieved and delighted that she has been able to share her experiences with current students.’  ​

  • BREIS Workshop

    We were very lucky to have the rapper and poet BREIS (Brilliant Rappers Educate Intelligent Students) visit JCG. BREIS worked with Year 9 students to help them craft their own rap poetry verse about issues that are important to them. We had a wide range of verses written about issues such as climate change, homework and the value of loving yourself. Additionally, BREIS talked to our Year 10 students about careers in music and how writing can be a valuable way to express your feelings. This event was enjoyable and thought provoking and the students produced some truly excellent work.​

  • Colin Powell Rotary Club Peace Debate Winners

    Congratulations to the winners of the Colin Powell Rotary Club Peace Debate Abbie, Katie, Ella, Izzy and Ellie. The topic for the debate, which took place in the States Chambers, was the Climate Change Emergency. Eight schools from Jersey took part. JCG proposed that Jersey needed to adequately fund Climate Change mitigation measures.​

    Our Year 7 five-a-side team played in the JSSSA Tournament on Wednesday at Haute Vallee School. They won two of their five matches (2-0) displaying great passing skills and attempts at goal competing against strong opposition.
